Optical fiber water detector type 44.1 WS-Bx
Water detectors are used for detecting leaks. They help to prevent transmission breakdown in telecommunication systems, damage due to seepage of service water or waste water in the earth, and ground water pollution due to chemical leaks. If leakage occurs, the water detectors cause measurable attenuation changes as a result of (manufacturer-specific) macrobending loss in the optical fibres.
The bending-Ø of the activated fibre is 20 mm. The fault should be corrected within 90 days, if fibre damage is to be prevented.
